The Illusion of Peace, Israel’s War Agenda Cloaked in Trump’s 21-Point Plan

Gaza Herald – Hamas says negotiations remain stalled since Israel bombed its delegation in Doha earlier this month. No new proposals have reached Gaza’s leadership, despite Washington pushing a so-called 21-point plan. What is being sold as “peace” is little more than a political smokescreen for Israel’s ongoing campaign of annihilation.

The plan’s central points reveal dangerous loopholes. An “Israeli withdrawal” is mentioned, but without a timeline, a blank check for endless occupation. Netanyahu openly links any withdrawal to total disarmament of Palestinians. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority is offered a token role, stripped of real authority, while Israel works to block even minimal Palestinian governance.

On weapons, the U.S. watered down the language to “placing” Hamas’s arms rather than seizing them. Israel rejects this and demands complete surrender. For Gaza’s administration, the proposal sidelines Palestinians again, suggesting a technocratic committee under international oversight, designed to deny self-rule. Israel pushes further, calling for foreign troops to police Gaza in coordination with its own army.

These are not peace measures. They are mechanisms of domination dressed up in diplomatic vocabulary. While Israel talks about “arrangements,” it bombs families in so-called safe zones and starves children to death. More than 65,000 Palestinians have been killed, including 20,000 children, and over 440 have died of famine.

What Trump’s plan offers is not peace, it is the continuation of genocide with international cover. True peace cannot be built on coercion, siege, and occupation. Calling this blueprint a “solution” is an insult to every Palestinian buried under rubble
