UNICEF: One Million Children in Gaza Need Urgent Psychosocial Support

Gaza Herald – The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels, with children paying the heaviest price. UNICEF has sounded the alarm, calling Gaza the “most dangerous place in the world for children” as casualties mount and conditions worsen.

UNICEF spokesperson Tess Ingram reported that a Palestinian child is killed or injured every 10 minutes amid the relentless Israeli bombardment. She stressed that only an immediate ceasefire can end the killing and maiming of Gaza’s children.

Ingram highlighted the unbearable conditions for families, citing famine, a lack of humanitarian aid, a collapsing health system, and ongoing attacks that leave children traumatized and displaced.

“Every child in Gaza has endured unimaginable fear and suffering,” she said, noting that nearly one million children are now in urgent need of psychosocial support.

The crisis in Gaza has left children facing a future marked by loss, trauma, and uncertainty. With calls for a ceasefire growing louder, the world is being urged to act swiftly to prevent further suffering and protect the youngest and most vulnerable victims of this war.
