Palestinian Killed, Another Injured in Israeli Strike on Protest West of Gaza

Gaza Herald – A Palestinian man was killed and another injured when Israeli forces targeted a civilian gathering near the Ansar intersection west of Gaza City. The incident occurred on Friday, October 2, 2026, during an afternoon strike that sent debris to Al-Shifa Hospital and casualties to Saraya Field Hospital.

According to Quds News Agency field reports, Palestinian Red Crescent Society teams transported the wounded to the Saraya Field Hospital. Meanwhile, remains identified as Ibrahim Munir al-Masri were delivered to Al-Shifa Hospital following the attack by occupation aircraft on the group of citizens.

Family sources confirmed that al-Masri died as a result of the latest Israeli targeting west of the city. This event is part of a broader escalation involving multiple strikes across the Gaza Strip throughout Thursday night and Friday morning.

In Khan Younis, south of the sector, two individuals including an elderly woman were injured by Israeli fire on Street 5 and Hamad City earlier that same morning. Additionally, child Sahar Al-Shawaf sustained injuries from intense and continuous gunfire by Israeli mechanized units in the Khayyam area east of Hamad City at dawn.

The Gaza Strip witnessed a series of airstrikes, artillery shelling, and shooting incidents in various districts. These operations coincided with demolition activities carried out by the Israeli army south of Khan Younis city.

Reconnaissance aircraft continued to circle over the airspace of the sector throughout the day. The cumulative toll of these attacks has resulted in multiple casualties and significant disruption to civilian life in the affected areas.
