Gaza Herald – A report issued by the Gaza Border Authority for September 2026 highlights clear indicators of failure in travel movements and the entry of essential supplies into the Gaza Strip. These issues are attributed to the continuous and repeated closures of most land crossings throughout the month.
According to the report, released on Thursday, travel movement faced major disruptions resulting from the closure of the Rafah land crossing for 20 days out of 30 days. This represents a deficit percentage of 66.6 percent. Meanwhile, movement through the Karni Abu Salim crossing, designated for travelers, was disrupted for 26 days, marking an 86.6 percent deficit.
The near-total closure reduced the number of departing individuals to just 1,197 travelers for the entire month. Among them were 485 patients who left for medical treatment, averaging no more than 16 patients per day. Additionally, there were 547 escorts and 165 evacuation cases. Data recorded zero movement between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Regarding commercial crossings, the report noted complete blockades at the Zikim and Kissufim crossings, which remained closed for all 30 days of the month, representing a 100 percent deficit. Commercial and humanitarian movement was restricted to the Karni Abu Salim crossing, which experienced a three-day disruption.
Despite a total of 5,265 trucks entering via Karni Abu Salim, the distribution of goods showed a sharp gap in basic needs for displaced persons and vital sectors. The report stated that only 139 trucks entered the strip during the month, averaging less than five trucks daily. Furthermore, only five trucks carrying Zinco sheets were delivered.
Concerning fuels, the report indicated that gasoline deliveries amounted to just six trucks over 30 days. In contrast, diesel shipments reached 147 trucks, and gas shipments totaled 87 trucks. Medical supplies also faced severe restrictions, with only 104 trucks carrying medical tools and health supplies entering the territory.
The Authority emphasized that these figures demonstrate that the current volume of aid flow, reconstruction materials, and shelter supplies continues to face constraints and repeated closures at the main land crossings of the sector.
