Israeli Shelling, Demolitions and Gunfire Persist as Ceasefire Death Toll Surpasses 1,000

Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces continued attacks across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, carrying out demolitions, artillery attacks, and live-fire incidents in the ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement that took effect in October 2025.

According to local sources, Israeli military vehicles opened fire east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza while artillery shelling targeted surrounding areas. Witnesses also reported a large-scale demolition operation carried out by Israeli occupation forces east of the city, adding to widespread destruction already inflicted on residential and agricultural lands.

Off the southern coast, Israeli naval vessels fired live ammunition and several shells near Rafah, creating renewed fears among fishermen and displaced families living along the shoreline. Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces launched illumination flares northwest of Gaza City, lighting up the night sky over densely populated areas.

The latest incidents come amid continued restrictions on movement, aid deliveries, and border crossings, conditions that humanitarian organizations say have further deepened Gaza’s humanitarian crisis despite the declared ceasefire.

Palestinian health authorities report that since the ceasefire came into effect on 10 October 2025, at least 1,028 Palestinians have been killed and 3,249 injured in incidents linked to ongoing Israeli attacks. An additional 784 bodies have been recovered from previously inaccessible areas.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the cumulative toll since the beginning of Israeli genocide on 7 October 2023 has reached 73,038 Palestinians killed and 173,357 wounded, underscoring the devastating human impact of nearly three years of war.
