Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces continued to violate the Gaza ceasefire agreement on Monday, carrying out artillery shelling and live-fire attacks across several areas of the Gaza Strip while maintaining a crippling blockade that has deepened the humanitarian crisis.
According to local sources, Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire toward eastern areas of Gaza, accompanied by sustained artillery bombardment targeting multiple locations near the eastern boundary of the enclave.
Israeli military helicopters also fired on neighborhoods east of Gaza City’s Al-Zeitoun district on Monday morning, while artillery strikes simultaneously targeted the same area, causing renewed fear among residents already displaced by months of genocide and destruction.
The attacks come despite the ceasefire that took effect on October 10, as Palestinians continue to report near-daily violations, including shelling, shootings, demolitions, and restrictions on movement, aid deliveries, and civilian access to affected areas.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire began has risen to 1,026, while 3,249 Palestinians have been injured. The ministry also reported that 784 bodies have been recovered from areas previously inaccessible to rescue teams.
Since the start of Israel’s genocide on October 7, 2023, the overall death toll in Gaza has climbed to 73,036 Palestinians killed and 173,357 wounded, reflecting the devastating human toll of the ongoing war.
