Gaza Herald – A Palestinian man suffered critical gunshot wounds in the town of Dura, located southwest of Hebron, on Friday. This incident occurred as Israeli occupation forces intensified military operations and arrests across the region.
According to local sources, soldiers stormed Dura and established a military checkpoint in the central area known as Dur Al-Alam. They imposed strict restrictions on the movement of Palestinians within the town.
During this operation, occupation troops fired live ammunition at a vehicle. The driver was hit by a bullet in the chest. Emergency medical teams transported him to a hospital, where his condition was described as critical.
In parallel developments within Hebron city, Israeli forces arrested three Palestinians. These arrests followed raids on the Jaldah and Shaab Al-Milh areas. Soldiers also entered several homes belonging to the Jaba’a family.
Reports indicate that during these home invasions, occupation forces detained additional Palestinians and assaulted them. The actions were part of a broader crackdown implemented by the military.
These events took place shortly after a shooting incident targeted an Israeli military site at the northern entrance of Hebron. That attack resulted in the death of two Israeli soldiers and injuries to others.
Following the initial gunfire, armed clashes erupted in the area. Subsequently, Israeli forces announced that they had killed two young men during the confrontation.
The violence has triggered a state of alert throughout Hebron and its surroundings. Occupation troops have closed main and secondary roads, tightening controls at checkpoints. These measures severely restrict access for residents to their workplaces and schools.
The situation reflects a wider escalation in the West Bank. Military incursions, arrests, and assaults by both occupation forces and settlers are increasing. Restrictions on Palestinian movement and attacks on agricultural lands continue amid rising tensions.
Local authorities have warned that the persistence of these military procedures will have severe consequences on the daily lives of Palestinians. The ongoing closure of routes exacerbates the suffering of the population.
