Israel Forces Palestinians to Flee Shuja’iyya as Yellow Line Advances

Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces have forced Palestinian families to flee their homes in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood of eastern Gaza City as the Israeli military pushes the so-called Yellow Line farther west, expanding its control over residential areas while continuing deadly attacks across the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire agreement.

The latest displacement comes as Israeli forces advance toward Salah Al-Din Street, one of Gaza’s main roads, threatening to cut off additional neighborhoods and deprive Palestinian families of access to their homes.

Footage from the area showed yellow concrete barriers extending deeper into Shuja’iyya, raising fears that the neighborhood could fall entirely under Israeli military control.

Terrified residents began evacuating western parts of the neighborhood as Israeli bloody attacks intensified, adding to the suffering of families who have already endured repeated displacement, bombardment, and the destruction of their homes.

Israeli Forces Push Yellow Line Deeper Into Gaza City

The westward advance of the Yellow Line has heightened fears among Palestinian residents that Israeli forces are expanding their military control beyond the boundaries established under the October 2025 ceasefire agreement.

As families fled Shuja’iyya, Israeli forces opened fire toward tents sheltering displaced Palestinians near Shuja’iyya Junction, injuring two people.

The attack underscored the continuing dangers facing civilians who have already been forced from their homes and are now seeking safety in temporary shelters.

Israeli occupation forces also carried out demolition operations in the Shuja’iyya and Al-Zeitoun neighborhoods, further damaging residential areas already devastated by years of a genocidal campaign.

Meanwhile, Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire toward areas near the Yellow Line east of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, while artillery shelling struck eastern Gaza City.

The combination of military advances, gunfire, and demolitions has increased pressure on Palestinian communities struggling to remain in their neighborhoods despite ongoing threats.

Israeli Gunfire and Shelling Target Displacement Areas Across Gaza

Israeli military attacks were also reported across central and southern Gaza.

In central Gaza, Israeli armored vehicles opened fire east of the Al-Bureij refugee camp and launched illumination flares over the area.

Israeli artillery also shelled Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

At the same time, Israeli military vehicles directed heavy gunfire toward tents housing displaced Palestinians in the Al-Mawasi areas west of Khan Younis and Rafah.

These incidents have heightened concerns over the safety of displaced families living in overcrowded tent camps with limited protection from military attacks.

For Palestinians who have already lost their homes, the continued targeting of areas sheltering displaced people has deepened fears that nowhere in Gaza offers reliable safety.

The attacks come despite the ceasefire agreement, which was intended to halt hostilities and provide protection for civilians.

Seven Palestinians Killed in 24 Hours Despite Ceasefire

According to Gaza’s health authorities, seven Palestinians were killed during the latest 24-hour reporting period, including six newly reported deaths and one person who succumbed to earlier injuries.

Another 28 Palestinians were injured.

The latest casualties bring the reported death toll since the ceasefire took effect in October 2025 to 1,488 Palestinians, with another 5,281 injured.

Authorities also reported that the bodies of 836 Palestinians had been recovered during the same period.

The continuing deaths and injuries have raised serious concerns about the effectiveness of the ceasefire in protecting Palestinian civilians.

Gaza Death Toll Climbs to 74,377 Palestinians

Gaza’s health authorities reported that the overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s genocidal war in October 2023 has reached 74,377, with another 175,398 people injured.

The figures reflect the enormous human cost of the war, which has devastated residential neighborhoods, destroyed essential infrastructure, and displaced much of Gaza’s population.

The latest Israeli attacks around the Yellow Line has added another threat to Palestinian families already struggling to survive amid widespread destruction and shortages of essential services.

As Israeli forces reportedly extend their control farther into Gaza City, residents face growing uncertainty over whether they will be able to return to their homes or access neighborhoods now falling within military-controlled areas.

Palestinians Face Further Displacement as Israeli Control Expands

The developments in Shuja’iyya highlight the consequences of shifting military boundaries in a territory where hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians are already crowded into severely damaged residential areas and temporary shelters.

The reported advance of the Yellow Line threatens to further restrict civilian movement, isolate neighborhoods, and deepen the humanitarian crisis.

For families fleeing Shuja’iyya, the displacement represents another chapter in a prolonged struggle marked by repeated evacuations, destroyed homes, and uncertainty over their future.

As Israeli forces push deeper into Palestinian neighborhoods and deadly attacks continue despite the ceasefire, families in Gaza face an increasingly desperate struggle to protect their lives, homes, and right to remain on their land.
