Qasem clarified in a press statement that Hamas remains fully committed to observing the ceasefire terms. This commitment stands in contrast to what he described as continuous breaches of the agreement by the occupying forces. The movement reiterated that accusations of non-compliance are unfounded and part of a broader strategy to legitimize further attacks.
The spokesperson noted that such narratives are designed to shift responsibility away from the actual perpetrators of violence. According to Qasem, the occupation seeks to portray itself as a victim while continuing operations that endanger civilians. He argued that these statements do not reflect reality but rather aim to manipulate international perception.
Hamas stressed that it has consistently adhered to the agreed-upon terms since the implementation of the truce. The movement pointed out that recent incidents causing casualties were directly linked to Israeli actions rather than any failure on their part to maintain peace. They accused the occupation of using false pretenses to resume hostilities.
Recent reports indicate significant civilian losses due to ongoing strikes. A child was among those injured in an Israeli bombardment, resulting in three martyrs and multiple wounded individuals across the sector. Additionally, a building collapse in Gaza City displaced numerous internally displaced persons, leading to twenty-one deaths and dozens of missing or injured people.
The movement condemned these developments as evidence of the occupation’s disregard for human life and international law. Hamas called upon global actors to hold the Israeli government accountable for its actions. They urged the international community to intervene effectively to prevent further bloodshed and protect vulnerable populations.
Qasem concluded by reaffirming Hamas’ willingness to cooperate with all efforts aimed at sustaining the ceasefire. However, he warned that any attempt to undermine the agreement through false accusations would be met with firm resistance. The spokesperson asserted that peace can only be achieved through genuine respect for Palestinian rights and sovereignty.
