Gaza Herald_ Water access in Gaza has fallen far below the minimum emergency level, leaving much of the population struggling to secure enough water for basic daily needs, the United Nations said.
UN deputy spokesperson Farhan Haq told reporters at the organization’s headquarters in New York that the amount of water available to Gaza’s residents remains significantly below the emergency standard of 15 liters per person per day.
Haq said most people in Gaza still lack adequate water, sanitation and hygiene services. Much of the limited water available for household use has to be transported by tanker, further complicating access for families already facing severe humanitarian conditions.
The crisis extends beyond water. More than 900,000 people are also exposed to accumulated garbage in residential areas, increasing concerns over sanitation, disease and public health.
