Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces continued to violate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, carrying out artillery shelling and opening fire across several areas of eastern and southern Gaza.
Local sources reported that Israeli artillery shelled the northeastern outskirts of Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, while Israeli naval forces opened fire toward the coastline of Gaza City.
Israeli artillery also targeted the area around Al-Sanafour Junction east of Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, alongside heavy tank fire directed toward eastern parts of the city.
In southern Gaza, Israeli tanks opened intense fire in Al-Shakoush area north of Rafah, while additional fire was reported toward eastern Gaza City. Israeli warships also fired heavily from offshore toward areas along the coast of Khan Younis.
The renewed attacks come despite the ongoing ceasefire and recent efforts to advance the second phase of the agreement.
On Saturday, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that a Palestinian was killed by Israeli gunfire east of Deir al-Balah. Hospital sources also reported that nine Palestinians, including four children, were injured by Israeli fire outside areas under Israeli control in Gaza.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death toll since the ceasefire took effect on October 10 has risen to 1,257 Palestinians, with 4,131 injured and 806 bodies recovered from beneath the rubble.
The overall Palestinian death toll from the Israeli genocide on Gaza since October 7, 2023 has reached 73,384, while 174,242 Palestinians have been injured, according to the ministry.
The latest attacks come as violations of the ceasefire continue despite Palestinian resistance factions agreeing in recent days to a mediator-backed plan aimed at implementing the agreement’s second phase.
