Gaza Herald – The head of the National Coalition of Palestinian Tribes, Clans, and Families, Alaa Al-Din Al-Aklouk, has called for the immediate activation of the National Committee for Gaza Administration, saying there is no longer any justification for delaying its deployment following the dissolution of Gaza’s Government Emergency Committee.
Speaking on Monday during a press conference at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, Al-Aklouk said all previously cited obstacles to the committee assuming its responsibilities had been removed. He urged that the committee be enabled to begin its work as soon as possible to address the humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Aklouk said the tribal coalition has supported the committee since its formation and remains ready to provide any assistance needed to ensure its success and serve Gaza’s population. He added that the coalition is awaiting the official announcement outlining the administrative handover process and expressed hope that the committee would begin operating without further delay.
The call came after Gaza’s governmental authorities announced the resignation of the Government Follow-up Committee and the completion of arrangements to transfer administrative responsibilities to the National Committee for Gaza Administration. Al-Aklouk said this step removed any remaining arguments against implementing the transition and marked the beginning of a new phase aimed at easing the suffering of Palestinians.
The committee’s chairman, Ali Shaath, also announced that the body is prepared to immediately assume its responsibilities once it receives the necessary authority and operational support.
The transitional technocratic committee was established under UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the 20-point Gaza plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. Although it held its inaugural meeting in Cairo in January 2026, it has yet to enter Gaza or begin operating inside the territory amid the continuation of Israel’s genocide and restrictions.
