Gaza Herald – Civil Defense crews in Gaza City recovered the remains of eight Palestinians on Monday from beneath the rubble of a home bombarded during Israeli attacks on the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
In a statement, the Civil Defense said its teams completed the recovery of eight bodies and human remains belonging to Palestinians who had been missing under the debris of the Al-Safadi family home in Sabra.
Rescue crews then moved to continue searching for additional missing bodies beneath the ruins of another home belonging to the Jadallah family in the same neighborhood.
The recovery operation is part of an ongoing initiative that Civil Defense teams have been carrying out for the ninth consecutive day in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to retrieve the remains of Palestinians still trapped beneath collapsed buildings.
Last Saturday, rescue teams also recovered the remains of six Palestinians from beneath the rubble of Al-Masa residential building in Sabra.
Civil Defense officials say recovery efforts continue to face major challenges due to severe shortages of equipment, widespread destruction, and the presence of bodies in areas that remain inaccessible.
According to figures released Monday by Gaza’s Ministry of Health, 799 bodies have been recovered from beneath the rubble since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025.
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics estimates that approximately 11,000 Palestinians remain missing across the Gaza Strip, with many believed to still be buried beneath the rubble of destroyed homes.
