Gaza Death Toll Climbs as Health Ministry Reports 16 More Victims in 48 Hours

Gaza Herald_ The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Saturday that hospitals across the Strip received 16 Palestinians killed and 16 others wounded during the past 48 hours, as the humanitarian consequences of Israel’s ongoing military campaign continue to unfold and rescue efforts remain severely constrained.

According to the ministry’s daily statistical report, the latest fatalities included six newly killed victims, one Palestinian who succumbed to injuries sustained in an earlier Israeli attack, and nine bodies recovered from beneath the rubble in areas previously inaccessible to rescue teams.

Health officials said numerous victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings or lying in streets that emergency crews have been unable to reach because of continued destruction, damaged infrastructure, and dangerous conditions on the ground.
The ministry stated that the cumulative death toll since the beginning of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,090 Palestinians killed, while the total number of injured has reached 173,553.

It added that since the collapse of the ceasefire on October 11, the territory has recorded 1,066 fatalities and 3,445 injuries. During the same period, rescue teams have recovered the bodies of 797 victims from areas affected by the ongoing military operations.
