Palestinian Fisherman Killed as Israeli Shelling and Gunfire Continue Across Gaza

Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian fisherman on Sunday as violations of the ceasefire agreement continued through artillery shelling and gunfire targeting several areas across the Gaza Strip.

According to local sources, fisherman Mohammed Mousa Abu Jiab was killed after being targeted by Israeli occupation forces while working at sea off the coast of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

Local reports also stated that Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition, smoke bombs, illumination flares, and artillery shells north of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

Israeli artillery additionally shelled northern Gaza and the eastern areas of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Strip.

On Saturday, ten Palestinians were reportedly killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza.

In recent days, the Israeli military has intensified its attacks in the Gaza Strip, carrying out daily attacks across multiple areas while expanding its control over additional territory. These developments have occurred amid silence from the U.S. peace envoy and the United States, which had acted as a guarantor of the ceasefire agreement.

The number of Palestinians reported killed since the ceasefire came into effect in October of last year has reached 950, with hundreds more wounded.

Israeli occupation forces have continued violations of the ceasefire agreement, including airstrikes, artillery attacks targeting displaced civilians, detonations within the area known as the “Yellow Line,” and ongoing restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid, and travel.

According to figures released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death toll since the ceasefire began on October 10 of last year has risen to 960 fatalities, with 2,984 injuries and 782 bodies recovered.

The overall toll of the genocide since October 7, 2023, has reportedly reached 72,970 Palestinians and 173,092 injuries, highlighting the severe human cost of the continuing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
