Three Palestinian Police Officers Killed in New Israeli Attack as Gaza Death Toll Rises to 72,628

Gaza Herald – Three Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Thursday after an Israeli airstrike targeted a security point west of Gaza City, as Israel continues violating the ceasefire agreement and escalating threats of resuming full-scale war on the Gaza Strip.

According to local sources, an Israeli Apache helicopter fired at least one missile toward a security operations room in the Ansar area west of the city. The strike came amid heavy low-altitude flights and intense surveillance drone activity across Gaza’s skies.

The victims and wounded were transferred to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, while one critically injured person was taken to the Palestinian Red Crescent field hospital in central Gaza City.

Gaza’s Interior Ministry later announced that three police officers and security personnel were killed in the attack on the security post, while a fourth officer sustained critical injuries alongside several civilians.

In addition, since this morning, Israeli artillery shelling has continued targeting northern areas of Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, as well as eastern parts of Wadi Gaza. Israeli military vehicles additionally opened fire in central Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

In its daily statistical report, Gaza’s Ministry of Health stated that nine bodies had arrived at hospitals across the Strip over the past 48 hours, including six newly killed victims and three who succumbed to previous injuries. The ministry also recorded 39 injuries resulting from ongoing Israeli attacks.

The ministry reported that since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025, at least 846 Palestinians have been killed and 2,418 injured, while medical teams have recovered 769 bodies from different areas.

According to the ministry’s figures, the overall death toll from Israel’s genocide on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,628 killed and 172,520 injured.

The developments come as Israeli political and military circles increasingly discuss the possibility of restarting the war on Gaza.
