Israeli Escalation Undermines Ceasefire in Gaza, Hamas Warns

Gaza Herald – Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated today that Israel’s recent attacks against Palestinians in Gaza, including continued killings and tightened blockade measures, reflect a clear intent to undermine the ceasefire and the ongoing efforts of the Peace Council.

Qassem emphasized that the ongoing killings, restrictions on reconstruction, and intensified siege represent a continuation of the genocidal campaign against Gaza, albeit at a different pace. He called on all mediators and guarantor parties to exert real pressure on Israel to halt violations of the ceasefire and lift the blockade, allowing parties to continue negotiations.

The remarks come amid new casualties: two Palestinians were killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a group of civilians north of Al-Zawaida village in central Gaza. Local sources identified the victims as Ahmed Mohamed Darwish and Nader Al-Nabahen.

The escalation follows the killing of 13-year-old Khaled Saif Al-Din Suleiman Aradeh, who was fatally shot by Israeli forces in Khan Younis on Tuesday.
