Gaza Government Warns Israeli Restrictions Threaten WCK Operations

Gaza Herald – The Gaza government has warned that Israeli restrictions are jeopardizing the operations of the US-based nonprofit World Central Kitchen (WCK), raising fears that food distribution to thousands of Palestinians could be disrupted.

Officials said the number of aid trucks permitted to enter Gaza daily has dropped dramatically, from 25 to just five, severely limiting WCK’s ability to provide roughly one million free meals each day amid ongoing humanitarian shortages. The restrictions also require purchasing raw materials from “Israel” instead of relying on supplies from Egypt, increasing costs and straining the humanitarian supply chain.

The Gaza Government Media Office emphasized that these obstacles could deepen the humanitarian crisis, accusing Israel of violating international humanitarian law by restricting aid access. They called on media outlets to report responsibly, highlighting the humanitarian dimension without causing public panic.

WCK has previously confirmed that several staff members were killed by Israeli bombardment in the genocidal war on Gaza and that operations have been repeatedly suspended due to blocked aid deliveries. The nonprofit stressed that food distribution cannot continue without a reliable and safe flow of supplies into the enclave.

The organization said it continues to work constructively with all relevant parties to maintain operations but warned that ongoing limitations could force a suspension of critical humanitarian services, leaving thousands of vulnerable Palestinians at risk of hunger.
