Gaza Herald – 13 Palestinian detainees were released and transported to Al-Aqsa Hospital on Wednesday following their detention in Israeli jails since the outbreak of the Israeli genocide in October 2023.
The freed detainees included a child from Gaza, Khan Younis, and Rafah, many of whom arrived in severely deteriorated health after prolonged imprisonment under harsh conditions.
Medical teams immediately admitted the detainees to treatment units to address malnutrition, dehydration, and other complications caused by a lack of adequate medical attention during detention. The urgent care was necessary to stabilize their conditions.
The detainees’ release comes amid ongoing humanitarian concerns, as thousands of other detainees remain in Israeli custody, with families lacking information about their whereabouts and health. Human rights organizations have called for continued monitoring of the released prisoners’ conditions and full transparency regarding those still held.
