Dozens Cross Rafah as Medical Evacuations Resume Under Tight Restrictions

Gaza Herald – Forty-six Palestinians reentered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing, while a new group of wounded civilians and critically ill patients departed from Khan Younis toward the same crossing for urgent medical treatment abroad.

The movements took place under strict security procedures and amid ongoing limitations on cross-border travel, reflecting the fragile and highly controlled nature of mobility in and out of the enclave.

The latest transfers followed weeks of restricted access, with humanitarian coordination facilitating the evacuation of severe medical cases unavailable for treatment inside Gaza’s strained healthcare system. The departures underscored the continuing medical crisis, as patients requiring specialized surgeries, oncology care, and advanced trauma treatment relied on rare clearance to exit the territory for lifesaving intervention.
