Gaza Herald – The killing of three additional journalists in an Israeli strike brought the total number of media workers killed in Gaza to 293 since the Israeli genocide began in October 2023, marking one of the deadliest military assaults for journalists in modern history.
The journalists were struck while documenting events on the ground in central Gaza, according to colleagues and medical sources, as Israeli attacks continued to hit civilian areas and press activity zones.
Press freedom organizations and media advocates warned that the scale and pattern of the killings reflected a systematic assault on journalism, severely undermining the public’s right to information amid an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.
