Gaza Herald – Hamas signaled it will transfer full administrative control of Gaza to the National Committee for Gaza Management within days, according to regional media reports.
The move follows Hamas’ formal welcome of the committee, chaired by Ali Shaath, with sources saying the group is preparing to hand over all civil and administrative files during the coming week.
In messages sent to mediators, Hamas emphasized that obligations under the first phase of the ceasefire must be fully implemented before any discussion of a second phase, including disarmament, which Washington had already announced had begun.
Senior Hamas officials said meetings in Cairo last week focused on Israel’s failure to meet ceasefire commitments, including reopening Rafah crossing, allowing temporary housing units, ensuring agreed aid flows, permitting rubble-removal equipment, and halting ceasefire violations.
According to the sources, Hamas leadership instructed its structures and allied factions to vacate positions and prepare documentation, clearing the way for a full administrative handover to the committee.
Hamas said the step removes any claim that it is obstructing efforts to end the genocide, placing responsibility on international actors to deliver aid, launch reconstruction, and ease Gaza’s humanitarian catastrophe.
