Four Killed as War-Damaged Buildings Collapse

Gaza Herald – Four Palestinians, including two women and a child, were killed last night when a wedding hall being used as a shelter for displaced families collapsed in al-Shalihat area of western Gaza City amid violent winds and heavy rain.

Local sources said the victims included 15-year-old Rimas Bilal Hamouda, Dua Mansour Hamouda, and 72-year-old Mohammad al-Abd Hamouda, after part of the damaged “Organza” hall, previously struck by Israeli bombardment, gave way under severe weather conditions, injuring others.

In a separate incident nearby, 33-year-old Wafaa Shreir was killed when a wall of a house damaged in earlier Israeli strikes collapsed along al-Thawra Street in western Gaza City during the storm.

Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal confirmed at least three deaths were caused by partial collapses of structurally unsound buildings, warning that damaged structures are no longer safe shelters as storms continue to batter the enclave.

Several more Palestinians were injured after another war-damaged residential building collapsed in the Beach Refugee Camp, underscoring mounting risks across Gaza, where heavy rain and strong winds are triggering repeated deadly collapses of structures weakened by months of bombardment.
