Palestinian Prisoners’ Death Toll Reaches 323 Since 1967

Gaza Herald – On the anniversary of Palestinian Martyrs’ Day, the Palestinian Prisoners Media Office reported that 323 Palestinian prisoners have died in Israeli detention since 1967. This includes 86 prisoners who were killed during the ongoing genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023.

The office highlighted that over the past two years, Gaza alone has witnessed more than 70,000 killings, with additional fatalities from the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. Many of the prisoners died under torture or through policies of slow execution inside Israeli jails.

The report stressed that the crimes committed against Palestinian detainees are unprecedented and systematic, reflecting a continued pattern of abuse, neglect, and deliberate harm. These acts, the office noted, will not be forgotten or left unaccounted for.

Authorities emphasized the need for international attention, calling on organizations including the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations to inspect prison conditions and intervene to end the suffering of detainees.

The statement urged the Palestinian leadership to use all available documentation and evidence of grave violations, including torture and sexual assault, to hold Israeli officials accountable in international courts and reinforce global advocacy for prisoner rights.
