Gaza Herald – Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital in Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis suspended all surgical operations for a third consecutive week after critical medical supplies ran out.
The shutdown followed continued border closures and restrictions blocking the entry of medicines, equipment, and fuel into Gaza.
The hospital had been operating without essential anesthesia drugs, IV fluids, sterilization materials, and basic surgical tools. Severe fuel shortages also disrupted generator operations, further crippling medical services.
The prolonged suspension left growing numbers of patients and wounded individuals stranded on waiting lists, as hospitals struggled to cope with overwhelming demand under deteriorating humanitarian conditions and mass displacement.
The halt intensified fears of an imminent health disaster, with preventable conditions worsening by the day and emergency cases left untreated due to lack of resources.
The crisis reflected the broader collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system, where chronic shortages of essential medicines and supplies continued to threaten lives and undermine hospitals’ ability to provide even minimal care.
