Gaza Herald – Gaza City Municipality said it had struggled to cope with the severe low-pressure system, as Israel’s assault had crippled rainwater drainage networks, leaving large areas vulnerable to flooding.
Officials said the lack of fuel had severely undermined crews’ ability to respond to emergency distress calls during the heavy rainfall.
In statements to Al Araby TV, the municipality said teams were forced to confront the storm using rudimentary tools, renewing urgent calls for the entry of mobile homes and heating supplies.
It warned that continued Israeli restrictions were turning seasonal weather into a life-threatening disaster for an already besieged population.
