Gaza Herald – Six Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip were released by Israeli occupation authorities late Sunday and were immediately transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza for urgent medical examinations, according to local sources.
Hospital officials said the released detainees arrived suffering from varying health complications after enduring harsh conditions inside Israeli prisons. Medical teams began a series of tests to assess their physical condition and address symptoms linked to prolonged detention and mistreatment.
The freed detainees included men from Jabalia, Khan Younis, Rafah, and Bani Suheila, reflecting the wide geographic scope of arrests carried out by Israeli forces across Gaza. Families said signs of exhaustion and physical decline were clearly visible upon their arrival at the hospital.
Palestinian sources noted that Israel periodically releases small numbers of Gaza detainees after completing their sentences, yet most emerge with severe health deterioration. Rights groups have repeatedly warned that systematic abuse, deprivation, and inhumane detention conditions inside Israeli occupation prisons continue to leave lasting harm on Palestinian prisoners.
