Three Palestinians Killed as Israeli-Occupation Fire and Storms Ravage Gaza

Gaza Herald – Medical teams confirmed that three Palestinians were killed on Wednesday as the Israeli occupation continued breaching the ceasefire with live fire and advancing armored vehicles across several areas of the Gaza Strip.

The victims included a man, a woman, and a child, while at least five others were wounded. One victim was run over and torn apart by Israeli-occupation tanks near the so-called “yellow line” in Jabalia, while the other two were shot dead when occupation cranes opened fire toward Halawa camp.

Additional attacks were reported in Khan Younis and central Gaza, where Israeli-occupation drones and artillery struck residential areas, wounding multiple civilians, including a child. Civil Defense crews, coordinating with UN OCHA, recovered another body from the Al-Waha area overnight. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, violations since October 10 have resulted in 379 killed and 992 wounded, while the broader mass-killing campaign since October 2023 has left more than 70,370 Palestinians killed and 171,069 injured.

Meanwhile, a severe winter storm has triggered a new humanitarian disaster, flooding thousands of displacement tents across the Strip. Civil Defense reported more than 1,000 emergency pleas from families trapped in rising water, with shelters submerged and roads cut off. Local authorities warn that Gaza needs more than 300,000 tents and prefab units just to provide minimal shelter after two years of systematic destruction by the Israeli occupation.

Politically, efforts to solidify the ceasefire remain strained. Hamas official Khaled Meshaal said Gaza must remain under full Palestinian authority and warned that disarming Palestinians means stripping them of their existence, stressing that the threat comes from the Israeli occupation, not Gaza. A U.S. official said progress toward the next phase of the agreement is ongoing but slow, with no plans to deploy international stabilization forces in areas controlled by Hamas.
