Gaza Herald- Israeli media reported that the Red Cross and Hamas are set to resume the operation to recover the remains of the last Israeli captive’s body in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Israeli radio station Kan, Hamas and the Red Cross planned on Sunday to resume the search for the remains of soldier Ran Ghafili, the last remains of a captive in the Gaza Strip.
The report stated that the search operation will take place in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, in northern Gaza.
Under the Gaza ceasefire agreement, Palestinian factions released 20 Israeli captives alive and the remains of 27 others out of 28, according to the factions. The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect on October 10, 2025.
As part of the agreement, Hamas released all 20 living captives, while Israel freed approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners from Gaza, including individuals serving long-term sentences.
