Gaza Herald – Civil society organizations in Gaza warn that the population faces a catastrophic shelter crisis, with 300,000 tents urgently needed as winter approaches, amid ongoing starvation and displacement caused by Israel’s genocide.
Despite the ceasefire, aid remains scarce, and Palestinians continue to endure extreme conditions with no adequate shelter or winter clothing.
Amjad al-Shawwa, head of the Palestinian NGO Network, said there has been no improvement in the quality or quantity of humanitarian aid entering Gaza, stressing that families are surviving in torn tents, makeshift plastic coverings, or the open air. He emphasized that displaced Palestinians are suffering deeply due to the lack of essentials.
The call comes as the humanitarian situation worsens across the Strip, with freezing temperatures, widespread displacement, and Israel’s continued restrictions on aid, leaving millions exposed to cold, hunger, and disease.
