Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital Faces Collapse as Dialysis Patients Risk Death Amid Supply Shortages

Gaza Herald – The dialysis unit at Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Medical Complex is on the brink of total shutdown, with 139 kidney patients facing imminent death as life-saving treatments halt due to Israel’s blockade and the collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system.

Medical staff say patients who require two to three dialysis sessions per day are being turned away as essential supplies, including filters and saline solutions, have run out.

Blood transfusions are also unavailable, as hospitals prioritize the wounded from Israel’s relentless bombardment.

Doctors warn that dozens could die within days if medical aid is not allowed in immediately, describing the situation as a deliberate act of extermination against the sick and vulnerable trapped inside Gaza’s largest hospital.
