Gaza Herald– Palestinian journalist and activist Saleh Al-Jaafrawi was killed while documenting the widespread devastation caused by Israeli military aggression in the Gaza Strip. His body was recovered and transported to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital following reports of his disappearance in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
According to medical sources, Al-Jaafrawi was fatally shot by unknown assailants while covering the aftermath of recent Israeli strikes. Eyewitnesses stated that he was attacked by “outlaws” who also stole his personal belongings. Local and family sources confirmed that Al-Jaafrawi had previously received repeated death threats from Israeli authorities throughout the war, threats that tragically culminated in his assassination on Sunday.
Al-Jaafrawi, aged in his early thirties, was a prominent figure in the Palestinian media landscape. Widely respected for his commitment to documenting the war’s human toll, he used his platform to amplify the voices of displaced families and expose crimes committed against civilians. His death marks another dark chapter in the perilous reality faced by journalists in Gaza.
In a related development, a senior official from Gaza’s Interior Ministry revealed that members of the security forces were killed during an armed assault carried out by a militia group in Gaza City. Speaking to Al Jazeera, the official stated that security units had surrounded the perpetrators and were conducting operations to apprehend them. The militia, the source added, had also targeted and killed displaced civilians attempting to return to the city from southern areas of Gaza.
