Israeli Naval Forces Board Sumud Flotilla in International Waters Raid

Gaza Herald – Israeli state media confirm that naval commandos have already boarded multiple vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla, as naval warships take control over aid ships bound for Gaza.

The armada’s communication channels reportedly went silent as intercepting vessels closed in, and activists on board were threatened via radio with arrest.

In defiance, flotilla members claim they carry nothing but baby formula and medicines, and that Israel is committing war crimes by interdicting humanitarian aid.

The U.N. special rapporteur for Palestinian territories swiftly responded: Israel has no legal right to intercept the convoy in international waters.

The current Global Sumud Flotilla, which set sail on August 31, 2025, brings together more than 50 vessels from 44 countries in a united humanitarian mission to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza.

Earlier today, the Israeli navy encircled the flotilla, jammed its communications, and closed in with warships before launching an assault. This was not an act of defense, but a deliberate, coordinated strike on an international humanitarian convoy. The attack sends a chilling message to Gaza and the world: under Israel’s ongoing genocide, even lifelines of food, medicine, and aid will be targeted and destroyed.
