Northern Gaza Plunged Into Silence as Israel Cuts Internet and Phone Lines

Gaza Herald — In another blow to Gaza’s already battered population, Israel’s relentless attacks have severed lifelines of communication in the north, plunging families into isolation and cutting them off from the outside world.

For thousands of displaced Palestinians, losing internet and phone services means not only the collapse of contact with loved ones, but also the loss of access to emergency aid, medical help, and news of survival.

The Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Commission confirmed that both internet and landline services are down across Gaza and the North Gaza Governorates after Israeli forces deliberately targeted several main routes supplying the region.

Technicians are working under life-threatening conditions to restore service, the Commission said, often moving between bombed-out streets and shelled infrastructure, knowing that repair crews themselves have repeatedly been targeted.

With communication lines cut, families trapped in northern Gaza are left unable to call ambulances, reach relatives, or even confirm whether loved ones are still alive. Humanitarian groups warn that the blackout deepens the crisis, further silencing a population already under siege.

As Israel attempts to erase not just Gaza’s cities but also its voices, every destroyed fiber line and silenced phone is another weapon in the war, leaving Palestinians fighting to remain connected, heard, and alive.
