Israeli Strike on Gaza School Shelter Kills 8, Part of Deadly Overnight Assaults

Gaza Herald – At least eight Palestinians were killed and several were wounded after Israeli warplanes struck al-Farabi School, which was sheltering displaced families near Yarmouk Stadium in Gaza City.

The attack on the school came as part of a wider overnight bombardment that also hit tents and residential homes across the city, bringing the overall death toll to at least 17.

By Sunday morning, Gaza’s health authorities confirmed that 21 Palestinians had been killed overnight with the majority of victims taken to al-Shifa Hospital.

Health officials and emergency workers described scenes of chaos, with bodies pulled from the rubble of classrooms turned into makeshift shelters. Thousands of displaced families who had sought refuge in schools now find themselves under direct attack.

The strike underscores the collapse of civilian protection in Gaza, where schools, tents, and homes are being systematically targeted amid Israel’s escalating military offensive.
