Gaza Herald- In a powerful act of defiance, the Emergency Committee at the Holy Family Catholic Church announced it will remain inside the church and continue its humanitarian mission, rejecting evacuation orders issued by the Israeli military amid escalating bombardment and threats.
Church leaders and nuns stressed that the church will stay open to shelter hundreds of displaced families, including children, the elderly, and the sick, who sought refuge there from relentless airstrikes. They warned that complying with Israel’s orders would mean abandoning the most vulnerable to “certain death.”
The church vowed to stand firm, declaring the Holy Family as “the last sanctuary of hope amid destruction and siege.
