Families Flee Schools in Gaza After Israeli Drone Attacks

Gaza Herald- Scores of families were forced to flee from Al-Zaytoun and Al-Majdal schools in Gaza City within the past two hours, after Israeli quadcopter drones dropped explosives directly on the compounds.

The two schools, which had been serving as shelters for displaced families, were thrown into chaos as terrified residents rushed to evacuate, fearing further strikes. Witnesses reported panic as children and the elderly were carried out of the buildings amid the sound of nearby bombardment. Many of those fleeing had already been displaced multiple times since October, deepening the sense of despair.

This latest attack comes amid growing displacement across Gaza, where thousands of families have been ordered to evacuate UN-run shelters and other supposed safe zones following renewed Israeli threats.

Humanitarian groups warn that civilians are being left with “no safe place to go” as schools, hospitals, and shelters continue to face systematic attacks. Rights groups have stressed that assaults on civilian shelters may constitute violations of international humanitarian law.
