Gaza Herald – Six months after the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect, the Government Media Office stated that Israel has committed what it described as “serious and systematic violations,” totaling 2,400 breaches as of 14 April 2026, in what it considers a clear violation of international humanitarian law and the ceasefire and humanitarian protocol.
According to the statement, the violations included 921 incidents of gunfire, 1,109 cases of shelling and direct targeting, 97 incursions by military vehicles into residential areas, and 273 demolition operations targeting homes and buildings, reflecting what it described as a continued escalation despite the agreement.
The report added that these violations have resulted in the killing of 754 Palestinians, including 312 children, women, and elderly people, with 99% of the victims being civilians. It also recorded around 2,100 injuries, more than half of them from the same civilian groups, all occurring within residential areas. In addition, 50 civilians were arrested inside residential neighborhoods.
Regarding the Rafah crossing, the statement said only 2,703 travelers have passed through since its partial reopening on 2 February 2026, out of an expected 36,800 during the same period, representing a compliance rate of just 7%, indicating continued restrictions on movement.
On humanitarian aid, 41,714 trucks carrying aid, goods, and fuel have entered Gaza out of a planned 110,400 trucks, a compliance rate of 37%. Fuel deliveries were particularly limited, with only 1,366 trucks entering out of 9,200, or about 14%, averaging 227 trucks per day compared to the 600 required.
The office also stated that key provisions of the agreement have not been implemented, including withdrawal from the territory, entry of heavy equipment and shelter materials, full operation of the power plant, and adequate delivery of medical supplies and fuel, in addition to only partial opening of the Rafah crossing.
It warned that the continued situation represents a dangerous undermining of the ceasefire agreement and risks worsening the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, holding Israel fully responsible for the deterioration and civilian casualties, and calling on international mediators and the United Nations to urgently intervene to ensure compliance and protect civilians.
