On Int. Women Day, Israeli Strike in Central Gaza Kills Three Women

Gaza Herald- Three Palestinian women were killed, including a journalist and a young girl, after Israeli artillery shelled tents for displaced civilians in central Gaza late last night, medical sources said.

The victims were identified as Amal Mohammad Shamali, 46, a journalist working with Qatar Radio, Nour Saleh Al-Shallalfa, 30, and 12-year-old Salsabil Anwar Faraj. The strike targeted displacement tents in Al-Sawarah, west of Al-Zawayda in the central Gaza Strip.

Ten other people were wounded in the attack and taken to Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat.

The shelling comes amid ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement. On Sunday, four Palestinians were killed in separate incidents, including three in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City and a young man who died from earlier gunshot wounds in Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza.

Since October 10, Israeli forces have repeatedly violated the ceasefire through airstrikes, artillery fire, and live gunfire across the Gaza Strip.

Data released by Gaza’s Government Media Office shows that 648 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since then, including 200 children, 85 women, and 22 elderly people—meaning these groups make up more than 46 percent of the victims.

A total of 1,721 people have also been injured, including 518 children, 343 women, and 90 elderly individuals, indicating that civilians and vulnerable populations continue to bear the brunt of the violence.
