Child Killed in Northern Gaza Raises Toll of Israeli Ceasefire Violations

Gaza Herald- A Palestinian child was killed Friday evening by Israeli army gunfire in northern Gaza.

Local sources reported that a 13-year-old boy was shot and killed in the Beit Lahia Project area in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Earlier in the day, local sources also reported that two young men were killed by Israeli fire following artillery shelling that targeted areas near Al-Mahatta Mosque in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood and the Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza City.

Separately, a Palestinian was reported killed by Israeli gunfire on Salah al-Din Street in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

Israel has continued to violate the ceasefire agreement on a daily basis since October 10. Since the agreement came into effect, these violations have resulted in the deaths of 639 Palestinians, including 199 children, 83 women, and 22 elderly people.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel—backed by the United States and several European countries—has been carrying out a campaign of genocide in the Gaza Strip, involving widespread killing, starvation, destruction, displacement, and arrests, while ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the offensive.

The assault has left more than 244,000 Palestinians dead or injured, the majority of them women and children, with over 11,000 people still missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed additional lives—many of them children—amid massive destruction that has wiped out large parts of Gaza’s cities and communities.
