Israel Escalates Ceasefire Violations, Carries Out Widespread Demolitions Across Gaza

Gaza Herald – Israeli forces continued to violate the ceasefire across the Gaza Strip on Friday, carrying out sustained air and artillery strikes alongside large-scale demolition operations, marking the 118th consecutive day of breaches since the agreement came into force.

Local sources reported that Israeli troops blew up multiple residential buildings in northeastern Gaza City and demolished additional homes and facilities across northern Gaza, triggering massive explosions that shook surrounding areas. Further demolition operations were carried out southeast of Khan Younis amid intensified military movements.

Israeli attack helicopters opened fire heavily on the southern city of Rafah, while armored vehicles stationed in and around the area conducted shelling and live-fire operations. Israeli tanks also fired extensively toward the eastern and southern neighborhoods of Khan Younis.

Overnight, Israeli warplanes bombed a home belonging to Abu Hattab family in the Khan Younis refugee camp, continuing a pattern of strikes on civilian housing despite the ceasefire framework.

Since the ceasefire took effect, Israeli violations have killed at least 599 Palestinians, including 192 children and 82 women, and injured more than 1,526 others. Since the start of the genocide on October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks have killed over 71,800 Palestinians and wounded more than 171,500, while nearly 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure has been destroyed, with UN estimates placing reconstruction costs at approximately $70 billion.
