Gaza Herald- A Palestinian man was killed and others were wounded on Sunday following an Israeli airstrike that targeted a group of civilians in central Gaza. The attack marks the 113th consecutive day of ceasefire violations by Israeli forces.
According to Palestinian media outlets, an Israeli drone struck a gathering of civilians near Wadi Gaza in the central part of the Strip. Local sources identified the victim as Ayman Awad Abdul Rahman Zaqout, 48.
Earlier that morning, Israeli military vehicles opened fire on the eastern areas of Al-Bureij refugee camp, escalating tensions on the ground.
In a related development, the Israeli army detonated a booby-trapped robot in northeastern Gaza City, creating widespread panic in the area.
On Saturday alone, more than 30 people were killed in a series of Israeli air raids across Gaza, continuing the daily breaches of the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 11, 2025.
Gaza’s Civil Defense reported that most of the victims were women and children. Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry confirmed the deaths of five police officers and injuries to 15 others after an Israeli strike targeted Sheikh Radwan police station in Gaza City.
The Israeli military claimed the attacks were in retaliation for what it described as a breach of the ceasefire by eight armed individuals emerging from tunnels in Rafah. It stated that four senior operatives from Hamas and Islamic Jihad were killed in strikes across the Strip, along with hits on weapons depots, production facilities, and rocket launch infrastructure in central Gaza.
In response, Hamas refuted the Israeli narrative, calling the accusations false and a pretext for ongoing massacres. The movement also condemned the actions as disrespectful to international mediators and peace efforts.
