Gaza Herald – Israeli military radio reported that more than 200 graves were opened in eastern Gaza as part of intensive operations to locate the remains of the last missing Israeli captive.
The search was carried out in a cemetery on the outskirts of Gaza City’s Shuja’iyya neighborhood, which was divided into multiple small sectors. Specialized engineering teams worked simultaneously, each accompanied by forensic dentists and members of the Israeli military rabbinate.
The operation was based on intelligence assessments identifying a specific section of the cemetery as having the highest likelihood of containing the remains, with the objective of completing the search within hours.
Military sources indicated that if the remains were not found in the targeted areas, the search could be expanded to cover the entire cemetery, which contains hundreds of graves, signaling a significant escalation in ground operations.
