Palestinian Woman Dies from Extreme Cold in Gaza

Gaza Herald– An elderly Palestinian woman died early Monday after succumbing to severe cold in the Gaza Strip, local sources reported.

The victim was identified as Zeinab Mohammed Awad Musbah, 63, who was found lifeless outside her tent at dawn in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza. She reportedly froze to death amid plummeting temperatures.

Her death brings the number of people who have died from cold-related causes in Gaza since the start of winter to 11, most of them children.

Displaced families across the Gaza Strip have faced worsening conditions since the onset of winter, as repeated cold fronts and sharp temperature drops compound life in makeshift shelters, where access to adequate housing and heating remains largely unavailable.
