Civil Defense Recovers 37 Bodies From Gaza City Mass Grave

Gaza Herald – Gaza’s Civil Defense said on Wednesday that its crews recovered the bodies of 37 Palestinians from a burial site in Al-Daraj neighborhood in central Gaza City, months after they were buried amid relentless Israeli attacks.

According to an official statement, the remains were exhumed from privately owned land used as an emergency burial ground during intense bombardment, with one of the victims still unidentified.

Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud Al-Shobaki, who led the operation, said families completed formal procedures before laying their relatives to rest in Al-Maamadani cemetery.

The recovery comes amid the ongoing aftermath of Israel’s genocide on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, and has left more than 242,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, thousands missing, widespread displacement, and vast destruction across the Strip.
