Gaza Herald – Gaza’s Health Ministry said a seven-day-old infant and a four-year-old child died due to extreme cold, amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions and the absence of adequate shelter and heating for displaced families across the Strip.
The two deaths raised the number of children who have died from hypothermia since the start of winter to six, highlighting the lethal impact of exposure inside makeshift tents and damaged buildings that offer little protection from harsh weather.
Health officials warned that continued shortages of shelter materials, heating supplies, and humanitarian aid are placing hundreds of thousands of displaced children at imminent risk, as winter conditions persist and relief access remains severely restricted.
