Gaza Herald – Two Palestinian girls were killed on Wednesday as Israeli forces continued violating the fragile ceasefire in Gaza for the 83rd consecutive day, amid intensified airstrikes, artillery shelling, and live fire across multiple areas of the Strip.
Medical sources said 11-year-old Dana Hussein Ahmad Muqat was shot and killed by Israeli forces in al-Zarqa area, northeast of Gaza City. In a separate incident, another young girl was killed when a wall collapsed onto a displacement tent in al-Mawasi area of Rafah, following Israeli bombardment that caused structural damage and injuries.
Israeli helicopters had opened heavy fire over Rafah before dawn, while artillery shelling and live ammunition targeted eastern Khan Younis. Fighter jets later struck Rafah again, as Israeli military vehicles fired toward residential zones in the Bureij and Maghazi refugee camps in central Gaza.
Since October 10, 2025, Israeli forces had carried out daily ceasefire violations, including air, land, and naval attacks, the demolition of civilian homes, and gunfire directed at displaced Palestinians, further deepening an already catastrophic humanitarian crisis.
The killings came as international warnings mounted over Gaza’s collapse, with foreign ministers from ten countries describing conditions as “catastrophic,” while civilians faced freezing winter weather, mass displacement, and a shattered health system, underscoring that Palestinian children continued to pay the highest price of Israel’s ongoing military campaign.
