Israel Ends Permits for Aid Groups in West Bank, Gaza

Gaza Herald – Israeli authorities notified more than ten international humanitarian organizations, including Médecins Sans Frontières, that their work permits would be revoked starting next month. The move required the groups to cease operations by March 1.

Israel cited incomplete registration procedures and accused some staff members of involvement in “terrorist activities.” Authorities claimed that certain organizations failed to provide full lists of Palestinian employees for security checks.

The notification represents the latest in a series of restrictions that have hampered humanitarian access in the occupied territories. Aid groups had previously faced bureaucratic obstacles, delays, and accusations, complicating efforts to deliver relief to vulnerable populations.

Israel asserted that aid deliveries to Gaza would continue through other organizations, claiming that the targeted groups constitute only a small portion of overall humanitarian assistance, despite concerns from international observers about the impact on civilians.
