Three People Freeze to Death in Gaza as Israel Continues Ceasefire Violations

Gaza Herald – At least three Palestinians, including a two-month-old infant, froze to death in Gaza as Israeli occupation continues to block mobile houses and essential materials’ entry into the Strip in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes overnight on western Rafah in southern Gaza and on the town of Beit Lahia in the north, while artillery fire and live gunfire from military vehicles were reported near northern Rafah. Additional strikes targeted areas east of the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, amid sustained escalation across the Strip.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health said the infant’s death brought the toll from cold exposure and severe winter conditions to three, while deaths caused by weather-related building collapses rose to 17. The ministry warned that hundreds of damaged structures remain at risk of collapse, threatening civilians with no safe alternatives.

Since October 11, 2025, Israeli violations of the ceasefire have killed at least 414 Palestinians and injured 1,145 others, in addition to the recovery of 680 bodies from the rubble. The cumulative toll since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, has risen to 71,266 killed and 171,222 wounded, according to official figures.

Meanwhile, torrential rain, violent winds, and rough sea waves flooded displacement camps across Gaza, submerging tents and destroying the few belongings families had left. With shelters collapsing and aid severely restricted, displaced Palestinians, already battered by months of bombardment, were left exposed to hunger, disease, and lethal cold, deepening what humanitarian groups describe as a man-made catastrophe.
