Health Ministry Warns of Severe Shortage in Essential Medical Supplies

Gaza Herald- The Ministry of Health in Gaza has issued an urgent warning regarding the deteriorating healthcare situation in the besieged strip, citing a sharp decline in the availability of essential medicines and critical medical supplies.

According to the Ministry, hospitals across the Gaza Strip are suffering from a 52% shortage in basic essential drugs, significantly impairing the ability of medical facilities to provide life-saving treatment to patients.

In a particularly alarming development, over 99% of orthopedic surgeries have come to a complete halt due to the unavailability of necessary medications, surgical tools, and anesthesia. Additionally, the ministry reported a major shortage in laboratory supplies, severely impacting the ability to conduct diagnostic testing.

Health officials earlier called for urgent international intervention to ensure the regular and unrestricted entry of medicines and laboratory materials into the Gaza Strip.

The ministry stressed that without immediate action, the health crisis will continue to deepen, putting thousands of lives at risk as the healthcare system faces unprecedented strain under blockade conditions and ongoing military escalation.
